Feng Shui Your Bedroom
520 words
The most important room for a marriage in a home is the inner sanctum, the shared bedroom. This is the sanctuary where you recharge your relationship, renew your bond and return to a quiet, peaceful environment.
Feng shui is the ancient Chinese art of placement . A feng shui bedroom promotes the flow of positive energy and reduces the influence of negative energy. Ancient Chinese wisdom says that a properly aligned bedroom can improve a couple's love life, finances and even their careers. Even if you aren't a believer, you are bound to get a better night's sleep in a more restful, less cluttered room that is laid out with sensual beauty in mind.
Feng shui uses the principles of yin and yang to guide the flow of energy or chi. This is the life force that radiates through all matter. Since we spend an average of one-third of our time in the bedroom, it is very important that this room be balanced for the best flow of chi. You want the energy to be inviting, nourishing, calming and exciting all at once.
Here are a few basics to help you create the best energy for your bedroom:
1. Don't keep the TV, computer or exercise equipment in the bedroom.
These items destroy the good feng shui energy.
2. Keep the room full of fresh air and oxygen. Keep the windows open
or use a good quality air-purifier.
3. Plants are not good for the feng shui in the bedroom. If your bedroom
is fairly large, you may locate a few plants far from the bed however.
4. Candles are the best source of feng shui lighting. Have several sources
of lighting in the room. A dimmer switch is very important.
5. Soothing colors balance the decor and promote the best flow of energy
for sleep and sexual healing. The "skin colors" are considered best.
These are colors that vary from pale white to rich chocolate brown.
6. Select only beautiful images to decorate your bedroom. Place
something beautiful where you first look in the morning so that
it might inspire you.
Your bed should be in a position that enables you to see the bedroom door from where you sleep. This provides a feeling of security.
Your bed should be easily approachable from both sides, with one bedside table on each side. These nightstands represent grounding and balanced energy. It is best if they have rounded corners. There should be no sharp angles directed at your head while you sleep. There should be a good solid wall behind your bed.
Remove any clutter from under your bed. Keep the space clear and get rid of any unwanted items stored there.
Try not to sleep with your head close to a window. This dissipates the chi and will make you feel more tired upon awakening.
Make sure all bedroom doors are closed at night. If there is a bathroom off the bedroom, keep that door and all closet doors closed. This allows for the best flow of nourishing energy. Everything in the room should reflect a clear path for the flow of healing energy, love and relaxation.
