EXPLORING YOUR PARTNER'S SEXUALITY

613 words

You may have wonderful communication with each other about everything but sex. Sex can be hard to talk about. You don't want to risk hurting your partner's feelings by telling them what turns you on, especially if they haven't been doing the thing that turns you on. But you want to let them know how they could increase your pleasure. How do you go about letting them know? It's the same for your partner.

It's a matter of confidence and trust. You must put enough trust in your partner to assume that they want and need information about sexual pleasing you. You must have the confidence to patiently, gently learn what parts of your partner's sexuality you still haven't explored, and let them teach you what you need to know to give them more pleasure.

None of this is possible without an honest, trusting and loving relationship. Obviously, it isn't something that easily happens on a one-night stand. It often takes years of growing closer and getting to know each other's preferences and pleasure centers to improve a couple's sexual relationship

There are some things you can do to hasten this goal. You must be willing to discover, to be open, to try new things and to experiment. You must take risks. It may be a matter of trial and error. You try something to see if your partner enjoys it. You trust that they will be honest and let you know if they do or don't like it. You need to have enough self-confidence that if your partner doesn't care for one thing you try, you are still willing to experiment and try another new thing at another time.

How else will you learn about their sexuality? And your partner may be learning along with you what it is they enjoy doing with you.

If you have a healthy relationship to begin with, your are going to have a healthier sexual relationship by communicating openly and being open to one another's cues.

There are a number of ways you can get to know each other's bodies better. Play a game called "Temptation." It is an extended version of foreplay with a mutually agreed upon decision from the outset that there will be no release or eventual orgasm. The idea is to drive each other wild, but never taking them all the way to orgasm. This way you can learn what gets them the most excited and what nuances of that act you can provide to drive them even wilder. When things end in orgasm too quickly, often there is no time to experiment and play with what turns each other on the most.

Another good way to discover each other bodies is to give full body massages. Use a sexy oil that smells great and is edible. Be sure to lick it off of strategic points slowly and lovingly. Cover every inch of each other's bodies until you find new erotic areas whose potential for igniting you were unaware of before. It might be a space behind an ear, or the indentation behind the knees. Really take some time as you listen to some sexy, soothing music and get to know every inch of your lover's body.

Ask them what feels good. If they say something doesn't feel good, skip it immediately. Don't insist they try it some more. Couples must respect one another's sexual boundaries. If a person is uncomfortable with some act or touch, leave it alone and discuss it at a later time.

Learning your partner's sexuality is an adventure. It can be a thrilling one when both parties feel confident, secure, loving and trusting.
